Connecting buyers and homes: Meet Callum Ryan
Callum is The Agency CQ’s Buyer Specialist, a property professional who makes the purchasing side of property exchange easier.
Working closely with Todd Brandon and Jess Donovan, Callum plays an important role in liaising with buyers during every home sale.
His role focuses on building relationships, understanding buyer needs and matching them with the right opportunities in the Rockhampton market.
“I get to meet a lot of people,” Callum says. “That’s the part I enjoy the most. I love working out how I can help someone find the right place for them.”
From restaurant to real estate
Raised in Rockhampton from the age of three, Callum’s real estate journey began during COVID.
After completing a degree in Business Marketing, he was working in hospitality when the pandemic disrupted the industry. This was the push he needed to move into real estate, something he had already been considering.
“I was working in hospitality and studying marketing, and I always enjoyed working with people,” he explains. “Real estate felt like a natural combination of those two things.”
Four years later, Callum has firmly established himself within the Agency CQ, bringing his welcoming presence to create a smoother journey for buyers.
“In a place like Rockhampton, you end up knowing a lot of people,” he says. “And working in real estate means you’re constantly meeting new faces and also reconnecting with people you haven’t seen in years.”
Understanding buyers and finding the right match
You’ll find Callum meeting buyers at inspections and open homes. He takes the time to learn what they are looking for, guide them through the property search process and answer questions as they prepare to submit an offer.
A big part of his approach is figuring out exactly what buyers want.
“I like to diagnose before I prescribe,” Callum says. “I want to understand what someone is looking for and why, so I’m not just sending them random listings or encouraging them to check out a home that’s not right for them.”
By building a strong understanding of buyer requirements, Callum helps ensure the right people walk through the door when a property comes to market.
“My job is to connect the right buyers with the right property while making sure we achieve the best possible outcome for everyone involved,” he explains. “If everyone is thrilled with the final agreement on price and exchange, I know I’ve done a great job.”

“No one has unlimited time,” Callum says. “Working as a team allows Todd, Jess and I to focus on the areas we’re best at.”
